I was so hyped by trailers for this game l, but the final result disappointed me so so much.

I don't think anymore that you can save this game because it’s just too bad in nearly every single aspect. For me one of the worst AAA Games in history!
While the repetition and lack of content cooled my enthusiasm a bit, I am excited to see where DICE can take Battlefield 2042 from here — if current industry trends hold, I’m confident this will be a strong addition to my already-full shooter rotation after a few months of additions and updates.
Despite a traditionally rocky launch, the latest Battlefield proves itself one of the bestin the series. Tell Edwin Starr we found out what war is good for.
Battlefield 2042 adds little in the new department and takes away a lot from the old. Without leaning onto the presupposed Portal community, having in mind the lack of an actual campaign and overall lack of technical stability, you have very little reason to be interested in Battlefield 2042
Despite the promising Portal mode, Battlefield 2042, which uses players as a tester, still gives the impression of an incomplete game with its errors and important problems.
Battlefield 2042 is technically an unfinished game that just has dozens of problems on both visual and technical levels. It poses some questionable gameplay changes, some good, some bad, but it still presents itself as a dash of fresh air with great modes like Portal and Hazard Zone. Sadly, it has so many problems on mentioned levels, with really disappointing “bloom” during shooting, that it poses itself as a pretty bad experience overall and it is really hard to recommend to anyone until it gets patched or gets additional content in the future.

The lack of basic things are surprising but with the announcement of Vince zampella from respawn(titanfall/ infinity ward OG) I remain a positive outlook on the future of the game. They also managed to include all maps and the fact that the browser for games hosted is fantastic. I love that we have variety available to us and they’re supported going forward. I can always jump into a game played on a bad company map or battlefield 4. It’s all here. The shooting mechanics so far I have found no issues with. And overall, it’s fun.

Battlefield 2042 is a good game, capable of offering a fantastic war experience. Despite having great successes, it also has some flaws that tarnish the final result. However, with some adjustments, DICE's game could once again achieve the success of the classic games.

Right now, Battlefield 2042 is offering plenty of new features and gameplay elements that will benefit the series’ veteran players, although I’m not sure if there is enough there to hold the attention of players that don’t already have a vested interest in it, at least while they wait for the various problems to be fixed. That really is a shame because even though the persistent issues are frustrating, unnecessary, and annoying, underneath it all is a game that is brimming with potential, and one that I’m enjoying much of my time with — combat is tense, challenging, and unpredictable, and it offers the very best Battlefield experience in recent years... when it hits right.
Battlefield has had some shaky launches in the past, and there’s no reason not to think that things will eventually be smoothed over in Battlefield 2042 over time. However, Battlefield 2042 is also weighed down by design issues and missing features. You’re going to want to wait on this one, and even then give some thought to skipping this iteration in the series.
If you’re looking to enjoy the next Battlefield title, turn back now. With the next patch not slated to arrive for another month, and the next content update to release some time after that, it’s going to be a while before 2042 can earn the right to be called a true Battlefield game. It’s best to wait until the smoke clears and DICE fixes any major bugs (maybe even wait for it to go on discount) before spending $70 on this game.
Battlefield 2042 wants so many things that it succeeds at almost none of them. There's a good game buried beneath it all, but you'll wade through a lot of sludge to get there.
While not all of the features Battlefield 2042 introduces are a hit, and the lack of a single-player component is a little disappointing, the game still manages to deliver the same spectacular skirmishes fans of the series crave with its explosive 128-player conflicts and satisfying selection of near-future weaponry and gadgets. Add to that the impressive Portal Mode, which has the potential to keep a steady stream of community-created content flowing, and Battlefield 2042 could very well keep your itchy trigger finger soothed for the foreseeable future. Whether you’re a longtime fan of the franchise looking to dominate the leaderboards or a greenhorn ready for your first tour of duty, Battlefield 2042 delivers something worth fighting for.
Battlefield 2042 is disjointed and incomplete at launch, but it's impossible to deny it still has that magic spark that made past entries thrive. There aren't enough maps and one too many bugs and glitches get in the way of the fun. However, with the excellent Portal mode to bolster it, Battlefield 2042 does just enough to get us on board. While we wish so many things were better, nothing else does it quite like Battlefield.
It's not as unsalvageable as Battlefield 5, but it's still hard to imagine this evolving into the definitive Battlefield game that DICE wants it to be. There is fleeting fun to be had here, but it's often spoiled by the game's blatant shortcomings. The maps are a slog, gunplay is bogged down by puzzling design choices, and there's no shortage of bugs that actively require the player to restart the entire game. It's a far cry from the 10-year-old Battlefield 3 and as it continues to age, the series strays further away from those glory days with no road to redemption in sight.
An odd, but admirably experimental AAA game, which offers plenty of epic scale action at launch but whose true worth will probably only be revealed in the months to come.
Battlefield 2042 has everything you want as a Battlefield fan: destruction, levolution, and carnage. But while it’s fun to play, it is clear that Battlefield 2042 is DICE’s most ambitious Battlefield yet - and it hasn’t quite come off in the way many were expecting.
Battlefield 2042 has a lot of problems. From its optimization, questionable design, and various bugs, it is clear that this game was not completely ready to be released. Yet despite all of that, I have still found myself having a good time bathing in the chaotic fun that is Battlefield. It needs some patches for sure, but Battlefield 2042 is by no means a lost cause.

I'd rate it a 1 for maps. Server are the worst ever all any spams in chat is servers ate terrible.Already aim bots on it with PC you won't get a gam with it off and you have to reboot it ever few games or you won't get a game too.: I take my 1 back.[Team work is non existent , nobody talks nobody marks as its to hard

I'm a massive Battlefield fan but I agree with some of the comments this game feels like the lacklustre of the series I was really disappointed that PS5 players can't play PS4 users there's definitely alot of bugs but most can be fixed via patches but I'm really disappointed in the amount of weapons and game modes
It’s hard not to be disappointed with this 2042 offering. You know when the devs said this is a game to “celebrate Battlefield”? They’ve stripped away some of the most fundamental elements of the series and added tornados and Wingsuits to make up for it. It’s Marketing 101. Explosions, tornados, and swooping helicopters look great. One day, they probably will be great. DICE is one of the best when it comes to post-launch patches - for better and for worse. But if you’re on the fence about buying Battlefield 2042, I would just wait. It’s hard for me to condone purchasing what is essentially an unfinished product - an unfinished product with Battle Passes, too. Just wait. It will be a better game in a year’s time. Maybe even six months. If you’ve never played Battlefield and want to experience some of the sheer beauty of 64v64, I say go for it. Just don’t expect an experience that will keep you interested for more than a couple of weeks.
Battlefield 2042 is DICE’s most average Battlefield yet, one that despite boasting two new modes to discover in Hazard Zone and Battlefield Portal, clearly forgot about the core of the experience. With some weird design decisions, plenty of bugs, and more crashes than a destruction derby; the future of Battlefield, this is not. It’s still fun, but we hoped for so much more.
Battlefield 2042 feels like it could become a cool game, but it’s tantalizingly out of reach today. There’s enough promise with the satisfying-when-it-works gunplay, large-scale chaos (that’s starting to feel more controlled over time), and fantastic legacy Battlefield content in Portal that I’ll stick around for a bit. It didn’t have to be this way, though.

You’re unable to disable cross-play in the game ( like you could in the beta), which doing it via Xbox settings stops you from finding a game. No Score board, hit registry is terrible, no xp at the end of the game and that’s if you’re able to get a game without it crashing and the worst part of all, no server select option. Save your money.

Unlike the predecessors this one however still would be the worst entry in the franchise had it launched perfectly finished and without bugs since this Battlefield is nothing but a soulless regression in nearly every way representing only a former shell of the franchise. This so called "love letter to Battlefield fans" comes with, in no particular order:- the worst gunplay of any bf yet- the worst graphics and visuals for its time yet- the worst audio design and mixing yet- least amount of actual content -> only 7 maps and 22 guns (hazard zone will be nothing but a meme in 2 weeks time and portal is a cheap last ditch effort to save this absolute disaster of a base game)- worst map design yet- worst weapon and vehicle balance yet- worst UI yet- worst performance yet- worst settings customization yet- most unfinished, bugged out and featureless BF yet- ... and the list could keep going on without end, just see some more comprehensive ones on the games subreddit. In conclusion this battlefield might be the first one that cant be saved by DICEs usual patch fixing frenzy in the first year after the launch. And even if DICE outdo themselves once again, the underlying game design choices are so out of touch with the core community, that nothing but a complete redesign of pretty much the whole game could save this franchise damaging kick in the teeth of battlefield fans. Unlike entries that launched rough before, like BF4 or BFV, where most die hard fans could at least see a genuinely good and fun game at the end of the dark, bug riddled tunnel, this one is the first Battlefield that is just categorially unfun, which hurts even the most die hard fans of this franchise.

I have Sat here for the last hour reading through official and user reviews to see what everyone is saying and essentially what i am seeing isI have Sat here for the last hour reading through official and user reviews to see what everyone is saying and essentially what i am seeing is people overreacting about how bad Battlefield 2042 is. Bear in mind this game is new and is early access. Every game launches with questionable bugs, glitches, exploits you get the point. I don't understand what people are basing their disappointment on. Okay there isn't enough gamemodes. I agree, the basic game will get truly repetitive after a long time, agreed. Hazard Zone is a good concept executed badly, could possibly be redeemed but they need to focus on redemption at this moment in time. They need to look at the bad reviews and see what people are consistently complaining about as if you fix/add things people are complaining about to the point where you have covered everything there won't be anything further to complain about. My personal opinion on the game is I think its a step down the right path. But the next couple months are crucial to the games success. Its enjoyable, yes but I can see the content lacking very soon. But I think people need to cut them some slack and not one overly critical of the situation as I think its becoming worse the is actually is

Good thing the trial is free. Most of the things either don’t work at all or are seriously glitched out.Getting stuck in the environment, fps issues. Flickering screens left and right. Packet bursts and lag galore. I thought Cod Vanguard was bad, but BF2042 takes the cake.Specialists? What is this this, overwatch?
The biggest and boldest Battlefield to date, 2042 combines trademark action with impressive innovations. Experimentation with loadout and attachment changes drive the enormous spectacle of 128 player warzones and dynamic weather events. Hazard Zone provides the grounds for extremely tactical gameplay but needs refinement to make it a lasting experience. The shining star without question is Portal, allowing series veterans to jump back into their favourite legacy maps and muck around with creative modes and features – it's basically four games in one package. If it wasn't for a few poorly designed 2042 maps, combat balancing issues, and performance concerns, Battlefield 2042 might be the best in the franchise.
It’s not without its issues, but Battlefield 2042 is off to a fantastic start for DICE’s beloved series. All-Out Warfare modes are immersive, Hazard Zone is enjoyable while Battlefield Portal steals the show. There’s a lot to love here, and I’m excited to see where the game goes.
Battlefield 2042 brings the sandbox back to the series in bold and controversial ways. The new Specialist system might seem like sacrilege at first, but it opens up gameplay opportunities that weren’t possible in previous titles. The massive, well-designed maps offer plenty of room for experimentation and emergent stories, and the modes are a blast. And that’s just All-Out Warfare. Between that, Hazard Zone, and the expansive Battlefield Portal, Battlefield 2042 has something for everyone, without feeling like it’s stretched too thin. It’s a true evolution of the series, one that pushes back against a stagnation that threatened the series’ future. It won’t be for everyone, but for players who crave imagination and fun from their Battlefields, it will give them everything that they crave and more.
