I love Borderlands like all parts and this game is good it is so worked out that Borderlands 2 seems to be the last century 10/10

After reading others experiences outside of metacritic, looks like the developer has 0 plans to fix this. This game is entirely a cash grab. Spend 60-100 dollars for a game that crashes every 10-30 min.

The humor is (and has always been) great, and I love that. The voice acting is top notch.What about the game itself? Lots of fun guns to keep the gameplay fresh. But, the problem is that the game world feels lifeless and empty. The game is divided into small areas with loading between each zone (who even does this in 2021? This mechanic belongs to the PS2 era). Because of this, the map system is very frustrating, since you need to navigate to fast travel A LOT between the small areas.Kudos for implementing a 120hz mode, even though the game seem poorly optimized (The resolution drop is just not worth it). In 60fps mode, the game starts struggling when increasing the FOV (Default:75). Real fps probably between 45-50. I think with this kind of cel shaded cartoonish style, this game could've been ran much better on the XSX.This is one of those games that still works because of creative people behind it. But when you start playing you're constantly reminded that this game still feels stuck in the PS2/early PS3 era (except for the increased resolution in quality mode). Can only recommend if you're a huge Borderlands fan.I'd really dig this game if gearbox would've:- Created a seamless open world instead of small areas with loading between (That would fix the map frustrations as well)- Optimized the game better on consoles- Made the world more interesting, more NPCs, interactions, generally add stuff to make the world more life like.- Improved upon the driving of vehicles (feels archaic)

If you’re expecting a great evolution to the series, you might be a little disappointed with what Borderlands 3 brings to the table. But if you’re happy to jump into more of the same, albeit on a greater scale, you’ll find a lot to love here. And on the new generation of consoles, Borderlands 3 shines better than ever. Playing at 60fps with up to 4K resolution really makes a world of difference; Borderlands 3 has never been more of a pleasure to shoot your way through.

After 3 patches on the XBOX series X, the game still crashed like 7 times and freeze my console twice to the point that I had to do a hard Reset.i finally finished this broken game. Not only the story is terrible bad, like most of the characters, are unlikeable and flat, but they also ruined the BL2 characters they have no roll in the history and they personalities feel off as if they are not important anymore. If you want true BL2 sequel you most likely not founded here nor in the over $99 of DLC and season passes. Is is really ashame since the "gun-play" is still very solid but you can't skip the awful in-game cutscenes or the faceless final of the story which is a complete rip-off of the iron giant/reckit ralph, I don't know what when wrong when supervising the story but it was like watching a tv show from the 80s but like bad 80s shows not the good one.

Also, the playable characters are all really fun to play as, and the worlds are just beautiful to look at. From the vast deserts of Pandora, to the metroplex of Promethea, everything in the visual department is a definite upgrade, and the game looks STUNNING. The combat feels fun and varied, a big plus too with how varied the playable characters are.Negatives: The writing, characters, and storytelling compared to Borderlands 2 leaves a lot to be desired. The main villains being what are essentially evil psychotic twitch streamers could have been handled a lot better than it actually was, and instead they come off as characters who I want to kill just to shut them up and not because they're evil and despicable like Handsome Jack was in BL2. Additionally the sidequests, while being pretty fun and imaginative in BL2, were bland and felt very same-y in the newest entry, to the point that I just stopped doing them. The general writing of the game has taken a bit of a nosedive from "amazing" to "adequate". I laughed a lot through the many playthroughs I had in BL2, but I almost don't want to make a new character in BL3 simply from how much I cringed at the dialogue.It's a lot more fun when you have a friend to play with (aka someone to cringe at the dialogue alongside), but this is where I noticed a number of other issues too. In local co-op the writing is simply too small to read unless you have a large TV, something which I do not play my PS5 on simply for convenience reasons and due to it being a part of a general gaming setup. The writing is so small in fact that I had to turn up the subtitles to max size and even then had to lean forward to read some of the other text. Small visual glitches also popped up during a local co-op playthrough, where the corner of my friend's side of the screen would warp to a pixelated black behind the ammo counter if facing a certain direction, but only on Promethea thus far. While not a game-ruining thing, it's certainly caused a bit of confusion.Overall, the game is pretty good as a looter shooter, but it doesn't necessarily feel like the Borderlands I'm used to. The gameplay salvages what would otherwise be a mediocre game, and the choice of playing it with friends also alleviates some of the issues I have with the game. Though, the writing is still pretty bad and can get on one's nerves very quickly. I haven't got anything to say about the DLCs as I haven't gotten any of them and probably won't.

Borderlands 3 is a no-brainer for those who already own the game to experience what the PlayStation 5 is capable of. The Resolution Mode visually adds so much more and the Performance Mode gives players a chance to try out the 120hz mode on a compatible display. The story remains the same, but the DLC will add many more ways to play for users. The DualSense Controller with the PS5 is the true game changer here and it’s further bolstered by the 3D Audio. Gearbox no doubt took advantage of the new hardware to unleash the proper Borderlands 3.

Make no doubt about it, this is the definitive way to play Borderlands 3. Whether you’re venturing into the Borderlands for the first time, or revisiting now that the technical issues are fixed, you’re in for a hell of a time.

Gearbox is at their best when they’re engineering the act of shooting something. If their game would just shut up and let the gleeful gunplay speak for itself, Borderlands would go a lot further. Instead, the gunplay is clogged up with meaningless loot, smugly unfunny jokes, and lots of using the same ol’ gun while waiting for the parsimonious skill point drip to finally drop. Where’s the glee in all that?

Borderlands 3 is a by-the-book sequel that takes no risks. Veteran Borderlands players will embrace it, but others will find that it has not evolved enough.

It delivers on its promise and then some, and if you’re someone who enjoys playing video games alone or with friends, and likes having fun whilst doing so, in that respect, Borderlands 3 is perfect.

What’s brilliant is how this can feed varying playstyles. Sure, I’m a sniper guy, but I’m currently in love with an assault rifle with a scope that FEELS like a sniper rifle. You might dig pistols, but that pistol-like assault rifle? It’s OK to love that, too.

Borderlands 3 is a great game, but it’s definitely got some technical issues with sadly brings the score down a bit. While my issues weren’t as bad as others I’ve heard about, they’re still annoying at times. However, if you can get past that you’ll find a game that’s more of the same as previous games (especially 2 and pre-sequel), but that’s what made Borderlands great to start with. A great story, reuniting with old friends, and some pretty interesting villains ensures I’ll be coming back to open any more vaults that are found on any planet Gearbox wishes to travel to.

Borderlands 3 is, quite simply, more Borderlands. That means excessive charming humor, great variety in environments and sidequests and a lot of fun coop action spread throughout. The things that hold the game back are mostly minor annoyances – like the overabundance of everlasting boss fights and the gruesomely tiresome inventory management – but all in all this is a package that simply works.

Those new to Borderlands will find some aspects confusing at first – Borderlands 3 is minimal when it comes to tutorials – but if they persist, they will end up luxuriating in the joyous, tongue-in-cheek, comic book-influenced fun it provides. Sure, it fails to turn the franchise into something new and futuristic in gameplay terms. But why would it, when its original conception was already immaculate?

Borderlands 3 may be a brain-dead story of already dead on arrival memes and a cast that is largely forgettable (Save for Tannis, I still love you for being my socially inept spirit animal), but it’s easily the most satisfying power fantasy of the year thanks to its amazingly tuned gunplay and a sophisticated flow of action that picks up the juvenile slack.

Borderlands 3 isn’t a franchise altering game, but it does manage to combine great gunplay, an expansive world, and stellar co-op into a great overall package.

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Borderlands 3 is as safe as sequels come. Its gunplay has hardly changed at all and the humour remains as polarizing as ever, but the package in its entirety works. It’s fast, satisfying and constantly addictive as you hoover up new guns and grow your selection of badass vault hunters.

Perhaps the best way to describe Borderlands 3 is to say it is exactly the game you would expect it to be. There are plenty of familiar faces, and it has the same sort of ambiance and atmosphere. People will still keep going into quest after quest for the same reasons (loot). While it might be difficult to accept the new villains after a great one like Handsome Jack, the twins are fine. Most importantly, the new Vault Hunters work well and the game is as fun to play alone as it is with friends. It looks, works, and plays well, and fans of the series will be more than happy to join the Crimson Raiders.

Borderlands 3 is more Borderlands, and all the loot that entails. This proper sequel improves upon the formula with more guns, but more importantly, a stretch of unique planets to kill enemies on. The new planets offer more visual variety and a great evolution of enemy encounters. The tuning is clearly meant for more than one player, making a punitive experience at times for the solo Vault Hunter. Despite the formula growing a bit stale, Gearbox has expanded upon it in the right way, resulting in a great Borderlands experience.

The weapons are interesting and goofy, the battles are intense and tricky, and the multiple open-worlds are beautiful and full of challenging missions. For Chinese gamers, it might be the most immersive 3A game in recent years because of the wonderful Chinese voice acting.
