Absolutely abysmal game. This game fails to understand what makes GTA so refreshing. This game builds an open world, but then fills it withAbsolutely abysmal game. The gameplay falls into a loop: Drive, puzzle, quick-time event, boss, drive, etc. The driving is dull, puzzles are repetitive, and bosses are simply pointless and dull. There is very little detail, and after 15 hours in the game, you haven't even touched 90% of a map, and there's no reason to explore this area. The unused areas are uninteresting unless you enjoy watching cars driving and people moving. Insane pop-ins and pop-outs, a button-bashing combat system, and overused humor.

While my brother traded the game in before I could finish it, I was pretty excited when I heard it was coming to the Switch, as this gave me the opportunity to go back and finish the game, while also being able to take it on the go with me. And now that I've finished the game, I can safely say that it's just as good as I remember!"LEGO City Undercover" is a charmer: it's got clever humor, solid writing, decently memorable characters, and an overall nice visual design. And beyond all of that, the game itself is just fun: the controls are solid, there's a lot of very interesting variety, and there's a nice balance of easiness and challenge here. Not only that, but the game has A TON of content (no shock given it's an open-world game, but for a "Lego" title, it's pretty impressive). Believe me when I say it took me 18 and a half hours to get through the main story and I didn't even complete 23% of the game. Trust me, you'll have A LOT to do in this game. The fact that the new-gen versions of the game also added a co-op feature that the Wii U version was desperately lacking is also icing on the cake.That said, there ARE some issues here. For starters, while the game is as fun as I remember, the load times are just as bad as I remember. While I've heard they are slightly shorter on the Switch than the Wii U, I can tell you it's only a negligible difference, and while the loading screens are interactive now, that doesn't make waiting any better. On top of that, while the game looks good, there were quite a few frame rate drops that were a bit distracting. Now granted, I want to point out the elephant in the room and say that I played through most of the game undocked, so it would probably be a bit better when docked, but even so, it was a huge distraction for me while playing.Though it's slightly flawed, "LEGO City Undercover" holds up nicely four years later and, if you're a fan of "LEGO" games, this is one you should definitely check out. Lego City Undercover is a solid offering from Warner Bros. and TT Games. It doesn’t offer an experience all that different from previous Lego titles, but the jump to the Switch hardware does make it a step up from many other Wii U and 3DS Lego offerings. The game does suffer from some technical warts, but for those that never made the trip to Lego City, this is certainly the best way to experience it.

LEGO City Undercover is a slap-happy LEGO GTA. This 2017 remaster of the 2014 Wii U exclusive now introduces the originally absent co-op play, while also jumping onto the Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Easily my favorite LEGO game in years.

With improved performance and the addition of co-op gameplay functionality, Lego City Undercover is elevated to the status of one of the better, more fun modern day Lego titles.

If I had any complaint about Lego City Undercover, it'd be that it doesn't diverge too much (or, possibly, at all) from its original version on the Wii U. As I said up top, though, that means there are only about a dozen or so people who'll actually notice that. For everyone else, for whom this will be an entirely new, go out and grab this game ASAP, because it's well worth your time and money.

LEGO City Undercover is an action-packed platformer filled to the brim with secrets and charm. Whilst the series as a whole has evolved - negating how impressive this was back in 2013 - you'll still find plenty to enjoy on its own merit.

While it is great that more people get a chance to play Lego City Undercover, this is a bare-bone port that lacks improvements besides an underdeveloped multiplayer option and some basic graphical enhancements.

Now keep in mind, this is a port of the original Wii U title. if you already have it, there probably is not enough here to warrant coming back for more unless you want split screen cooperation, higher resolution or achievements. That being said, if you missed LEGO City Undercover the first time around and enjoy this unique brand of adventure gaming, know that this release is one of the most entertaining and original LEGO games in quite some time.

You have your main missions which are a lot of fun to do they are your typical puzzle solving, collecting as seen in previous Lego games, using your cop skills to take down enemy foes with kung fu and other hand to hand combat tactics, as well as free running as you traverse along the rooftops of Lego City. As you progress through the story you will unlock more outfits so you can complete special actions during main missions or are out traveling in Lego City. The main story in Lego City Undercover is one thing but there is more than enough to satisfy you in the side content section, from building super builds like call in points for vehicles, blowing up silver statues, collecting pigs and watering flowers around the city. Its all around a great experience when it comes to the gameplay.Conclusion: Lego City Undercover delivers when it comes to quirkiness with its jokes and one-liners, the references to the cop and spy movies is a nice touch for someone my age, because I get them. The gameplay is some of the most fun I have had in a while when it comes to the open world genre I am glad to see it does not take itself to seriously. The only thing that really was not enjoyable about the game was a number of collectibles, I mean you don’t really need 450 gold bricks to collect that is a bit too much. Lego City Undercover for Switch doesn’t offer any new content from the Wii U version, but if you never played the Wii U version, than this is an easy choice for Switch owners.

If you look at it from an entertainment and sheer fun point of view, the last installment from the LEGO series by TT Games is probably the best ever made. Unfortunately, this is also one of the sloppiest portings ever seen, full of bugs, crashes and hesitating frame rate. You should wait for a patch, or some summer sale.

This brand new version is undoubtedly the most recommended for everybody who wants to live an open world adventure in a LEGO environment. Playing in handheld mode is fun, but the frame rate problems are so heavy in certain moments.

With such a fun story, great gameplay, and the ability to enjoy with a friend or relative, you’re never short of having a good time.

Fine port for multiple formats of one of the best (but somehow ignored) action adventure games for the Wii U. Charming fun for one or two players.

I feel like Traveller’s Tales is going to be hard-pushed to outdo themselves on another LEGO game that feels as enjoyable to play as LEGO City Undercover. It’s a brilliant addition to the franchise, and I’m so glad that other console owners finally get to enjoy it outside of the 2013 Wii U version. If you enjoy well-voiced characters, some silly jokes and inoffensive yet brilliantly addictive gameplay, look no further. If you’ve ever played a LEGO game and even slightly enjoyed it, you will love LEGO City Undercover.

An often-forgotten gem of the Wii U library gets a new lease of life on its successor, and it marks a perfect stopgap between the majesty of Breath of the Wild and the carnage of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe later this month. Minor framerate issues and higher price tag aside, LEGO City Undercover ranks as one of the very best LEGO games and an ideal portable companion.

If you like LEGO games you can discover now one of the most original entries, but it feels like a missed opportunity to fix its performance issues and add more relevant content, particularly as a full-price release.

Great fun on the WiiU, equally awesome on the Switch, with the added bonus of co-op play and of course being able to play on the move. It holds up extremely well and I'd highly recommend it to anyone thinking of purchasing. Fun for kids and lots of "in-jokes" to keep the adults entertained as well.

I love the laid back gameplay with tongue in cheek humour. It's almost a meditative experience compared to the rest of my library. Absolutely no stress. :)Bought a Steam key at approx.: 20 usd. On my high spec pc it runs butter smooth (I've read that others have experienced serious frame drops, but I haven't noticed any).I highly recommend it if you're looking for a quality title with relaxed gameplay. Added split-screen co-op makes it a romp with your children/friends/spouse and what not.Edit: I suppose the lack of any kind of P2P online multiplayer leaves the game wanting in this day and age. It's easy to see why some would outright dismiss LEGO City Undercover purely on the basis of it being a LEGO game. The formula has gotten a bit too stale over the years, so if you're looking for something fresh in the LEGO universe, Chase McCain's adventure won't satisfy you. But if you're still interested in some brick hunting and cop action - and you can look past some awful load times - then LEGO City Undercover will serve you nicely. Its charm, humour, and open world nature was, for the most part, enough to win us over.

LEGO City Undercover is an original, hilarious, and action-packed adventure that provides ample freedom and endless activities. It is apparent, however, that despite its revolutionary features back in 2013, the remastered version shows that many elements need retooling to be on par with current LEGO video games.

If you’ve already played the original LEGO City Undercover on Wii U, then there is little reason to pick up this re-release. However, if you were one of the many who missed it the first time around then LEGO City Undercover remains a hilarious riff on police procedurals, built upon a GTA-for-juniors open world blueprint, and stuffed with enjoyable side missions and collectibles to hunt down.

The addition of split-screen play, cursory in its execution as it may be, only makes the game more appealing to players who would prefer to experience LEGO City Undercover with a friend riding shotgun. And what's a good police story without a partner in crime-fighting?
