Way better than previous titles except the life is strange 1. That game was a masterpiece. One thing I liked about this game, is that you can hate gays and **** entirely and still enjoy this game. Because they included an option to be an average human being instead of being ****.No complex relationships between characters, as it was in LiS 1. there weren't that many impactful events. Every choice seemed even more guided. the story is fragile. The world feels like a fake paradise. The music is as usual top-notch. My favorite is "hold on to" that is, Chapter 2 Ending Song.

The story is superficial, too short and predictable. In addition, there are not many "breakthrough" dialogues and choices in the game, so the player does not influence the course of the story too much, as he did in previous games. With all these flaws, the game received a passing grade, due to its good art style and overall atmosphere, which is spiced with an extremely solid soundtrack.SRB:Najslabija igra u čitavom serijalu.
I'm honestly disappointed. The game is beautiful, stunning face expressions, amazing landscapes and voice acting are on point. But the gameI'm honestly disappointed. The game is beautiful, stunning face expressions, amazing landscapes and voice acting are on point. But the game feels... lacking. The story is predictable, the main plot twist is revealed in the trailer and the whole intrigue is pointless. Almost whole chapter taken by LARP that was sure, enjoyable, but at the end - again - pointless for the character development and the storyline. Alex's power is useless and terribly written. At one point she cannot cope with that, but after few days, she can master her abilities. And somehow everyone has much more emotional depth than Alex even if its her who can empathize with everyone. The ending is terrible and feels rushed as we learn almost nothing new throughout the game, apart of the very last chapters. I've played the game thanks to GamePass and overall enjoyed it very much (much, much less than 2 previous games though), but if I had payed 60USD for that, I would have been extremely mad. Not worth it at all.

Life is Strange: True Colors follows the tradition of the franchise's best games, bringing a rich and deep story, impeccable art and a perfect soundtrack. It is, in my opinion, the best port of 2021, and a game that nobody who likes the genre can miss.
Life is Strange: True Colors is one of the better newer game ports in recent years on Nintendo Switch. In a lot of cases, there are big caveats to buying a newer third party game on Nintendo Switch. For Life is Strange: True Colors, there have been downgrades, but they are smartly done to preserve most of the experience and deliver an excellent portable experience. Life is Strange: True Colors has already seen further improvements following launch with a recent update. As the franchise’s debut on the Switch platform, Life is Strange: True Colors is just about everything I wanted from a port.
Life is Strange: True Colors is a good narrative video game with simple mechanics that comes to Nintendo Switch with significant changes in its graphics. However, the great story, music, and design quality that the franchise has gotten us used to are still there.
Life Is Strange: True Colors paints a pretty picture, creating a story you’ll really want to invest in, with only a slow plot point or two distracting from what is otherwise a great work of art.
Life is Strange: True Colors is an immersive experience that connects the user with its characters and successfully transports the player to the town of Haven Springs. This moving story about emotions, empathy, love and loss is built very solidly on a well written script, very well developed characters, an intriguing story and very moving moments. Unlike DONTNOD's Life is Strange 2 that starts in a forced and sudden way, True Colors takes its time, is patient and shows its nuances little by little, at the right moment to tell its story. Unfortunately, everything that makes Life is Strange: True Colors great is overshadowed by an overwhelming technical deficiency on the Nintendo Switch, something that leaves me with a bittersweet taste. It is a fine game that should not be played on the Nintendo Switch.
Across its 10-15 hours, Life is Strange: True Colors tells an emotional story of a girl trying to find a new home while also reconciling with both her unique powers and her traumatic past. There isn’t much in the way of puzzle-solving, but intrepid players will enjoy going back to completed chapters and scenes to make new choices and see what happens. It’s easy to miss a conversation or an object with which you can interact, so it’s worth being thorough. There are hidden memories to unlock in each chapter, too. Despite a few abrupt time skips and scene jumps, Alex’s story is one worth hearing; it culminates in a captivating climax, even if the resolution pulls its punches a bit. Color me eager to see more Life is Strange titles come to the Switch in the coming months.
While there are many excellent story-driven titles in the Switch eShop, the tendency is more usually on grand tales or bold accomplishmentsWhile there are many excellent story-driven titles in the Switch eShop, the tendency is more usually on grand tales or bold accomplishments than fleshed out characters that feel authentic. True Colors still has a compelling story to tell but what struck me most about it was a weird feeling of authenticity to the key characters. Just something in the way they interact feels far less stiff and simplistic than the norm, and often the choices I’d have for responses to situations would feel sensible within the context of the current circumstances and characters. Certainly the discovery and exploration around your character’s powers and then the process of trying to resolve the game’s central mystery in this humble Colorado town are compelling, but without the depth of the characters being there I don’t think the whole package would work as well. I’ve seen plenty of people bemoaning how the game’s gorgeous visuals have had to be compromised on the Switch, and I suppose since this is a full-priced game if you have the option of playing it on another platform (and you don’t mind the lack of the convenience of portability) that would be a reasonable choice. That said, it’s still visually striking and the character models generally look great, so take those complaints with a grain of salt.https://www.nindiespotlight.com/2021/12/mini-reviews-december-17th-edition.html
Life is Strange: True Colors is a good adventure. Despite the fact that the graphics are not the best on Switch and it doesn't stand out especially in its story, it is entertaining and interesting from beginning to end. It is also replayable due to the different choices we can make throughout our journey.

Graphics are absolutely abysmal on switch. Will grab and play on PC when it's on sale for a few $'s. I am slowly coming to realize the only publisher who understands how to program for switch is Nintendo. Will stick to exclusives on this platform going forward.
Life is Strange: True Colors is the best game in the series so far, without a doubt. The town of Haven Springs is full of excellent characters, with Alex Chen herself being one of the best protagonists we’ve seen in some time. The game does suffer from some pretty severe visual downgrades with the Switch release, and some of the additional minigames left us feeling a bit cold. Nevertheless, developer Deck Nine has crafted a fantastic narrative that you’ll be eager to see through to the very end. Reduced visual fidelity aside, Switch is a great place to experience True Colors.
True Colors is the most “alive” Life is Strange so far thanks to a technological leap, but it lacks spark and tries to compensate for it by referencing or imitating the original game.
I was kind of disappointed with this game. I love the LIS franchise. I loved the first and second games. This one had beautiful graphics, butI was kind of disappointed with this game. I love the LIS franchise. I loved the first and second games. This one had beautiful graphics, but it felt lackluster. Everytime an episode ended I found myself saying "Barely anything even happened.." In the first two games there was so much exploration, so many conversations, so many choices and the chapters always felt soo long. This one felt rushed, quick, I was upset to have been able to finish it in a single day. I also hated that we got to choose who to date but we never got to experience any game play pertaining to the relationship after choosing. There just wasn't much to do or interact with. How do you go from traveling cross country in LIS 2 to limiting us to a single block in the 3rd installment? On top of that, there could've absolutely been more scenes in areas outside of this block. I honestly feel like I played a mini game and that I basically paid just for good graphics and not actual gameplay.
The end result is a remarkable, powerful game. Life is Strange: True Colors stays true to the series’ roots, using supernatural twists and an underlying mystery as the backdrop for a story that’s focused on the quiet beauty of everyday life and the connections that form between people. Within that, it carves its own path with a moving exploration of the power of empathy and the importance of finding a place to call home.
True Colors makes an extremely strong case for the best Life Is Strange game yet, with an affecting story that tackles themes such as loss and belonging and featuring the series' most likeable protagonist to date in Alex Chen. The town of Haven Springs is also a standout, and by the end of the game, I was sad that I had to say goodbye to the cast of characters. Hopefully this isn't the last time we see Alex.

I think it’s not worth the full 60 dollars being that short.Story was so bland and light compared to LIS 2, or even the first one. LIS 2 had a lot of tension and intersting moments to remember, but not this one.Storytelling, voice acting, animations are good as usual, that’s why I’m rating it a 6.It’s a shame because it could’ve been much better. I think it was a mistake to drop the old system of selli h chapters separately, since each chapter could last 3 hours.
A gripping story, beautiful landscapes and convincing characters. Life is Strange: True Colors looks very promising, but still this game could not fully convince us due to the slow pace and sluggish dialogues.

Best in the whole series by a longshot and definitelly my favourite game this year. It is in my top 2 games of all times as well. Everything was just awesome. The story, the characters and their development, the game play, the dialogues, the soundtrack and sound effects, the graphics, just everything. It was also very emotional and relaxing to play as well. The only thing i would love if it was a bit longer. But other than that I can say that this game is just perfect.
Life is Strange: True Colors is a complete title that will take around nine to ten hours to finish. This might prove a bit steep for the price, but the pacing and character work do well to make this story worth the time. The colourful visuals compliment Alex's power, but there are a few rough patches along the way. Despite the soundtrack of original and licensed songs blending into the world, the Live Stream mode is half baked and should be revisited in the future because as a shared experience; this game shines with complexion.

It would be nice if ordinary video games today could already count on such a credible as in the player. A gripping story and real characters contribute to a great atmosphere. Especially with human fears, the loss of a close relative and dares to just say damn unpleasant things. In addition to the story, there are also small but relatively simple puzzles. On top of that, there's great technology and sound. Above all, the soundtrack makes a big difference to other games of the genre.
Not a good game, but a special one.The story does not have too much to offer, it's simple, not very complicated, the choices do not matterNot a good game, but a special one.The story does not have too much to offer, it's simple, not very complicated, the choices do not matter a lot. This game does not compare to the original LIS, but it's way better than the second one. As a comparison the first game being the largest black hole in the universe this is just an ant and the second one a grain of sand. It's an example of how good music can make a game that is not as well thought in the matter of storytelling and mechanics, to be good. If the game didn't have the awesome soundtrack it would be a 4/10, not an 8/10. The soundtrack is awesome, the zen moments are an awesome idea, a thing that I was doing since I started gaming it's now supported and encouraged by developers. I found myself sit 15 minutes or more in a zen moment just watching the beautiful graphics and feeling the song. But still, the soundtrack isn't as good as the first game, but it's still very good. But I was expecting way more, given that Alex is intro music. And music being the central theme that revolves through the game. In the first game that was the photography and in the second drawing. So I think we deserved more attention to the music. We received less music than in the first game. For the story, I don't know how you can miss this bad, with the background being so perfect, lonely, and peaceful town, Alex the protagonist that is a newcomer and is awaiting to see the mysteries that the town can offer. It could be much better, anyone can think of something better. So I must assume that they did that on purpose, the story is so simple on purpose, like a manifest that things aren't always so complicated and complex. I respect the writers' decision, the game didn't make me burst into tears like in the first list, but it didn't make me wish that it ends faster like the second one.The graphics are awesome, the eyes of the characters are so cool, like how the move, respecting the classic lis art style, is so beautiful. The town the Main Street, the road, omg just fills you with an ease and peaceful emotion.Another thing that I noticed, playing this on the ps5. Is the dualsense missed opportunities. The game has dual sense support, but it's not there in all of the cases that it could be. I mean it isn't hard to feel on a playthrough where that feedback is missing and you are wondering why so easy to find those spots.I think biggest the problem with this game is that the first one exists, the game is worth playing and buying, one of the best games of this year, but when you compare it with Life Is Strange, the original, you even can't compare, the masterpiece of gaming and storytelling it's hella light-years away from True Colors.
Life is Strange: True Colors is the first-ever game I bought officially, with my own money. I don't know if $60 was worth the entire gameLife is Strange: True Colors is the first-ever game I bought officially, with my own money. I don't know if $60 was worth the entire game (plus the $5 tax jesus christ), but...This game beats every other Life is Strange game for me. I cried. I felt extremely happy. I felt angered. I felt shocked. I felt scared. I felt everything the game wanted me to feel thanks to its absolutely amazing art style and soundtrack. I had the exact same amount of empathy that Alex had. I didn't have a perfect ending. I didn't make all of the best choices. But I ended off with a smile and tears in my eyes. I'm not that great at tastes, so, if you don't like story-driven games or games that relate to this generation of players, and if you don't like the talk of real-world problems, and if you don't support anything that the world still needs to catch up on (LGBTQ+ support, Taiwan), this game isn't for you. That's why I believe there are so many negative reviews on this game. Most of it is review bombing from Chinese players angry about the game's acknowledgment of Taiwan as a country. The other negative reviews have mentioned and complained about "far-left ideology", which isn't even somewhat true. There's nothing that is far-left here. You live in Colorado, you can choose a gay relationship if you wish, and there's a transgender character mentioned in the story. If you see this part of the review, you'll have more neutral viewpoints in the mixed reviews, so if you don't want any blind love on the positive side and blind hate on the negative side, you should invest time on the mixed reviews. But still, if you don't like what the game includes in its story, then don't buy it. No point in wasting money you know you won't buy, right? But if you enjoyed Life is Strange, you'll love this game too. I hope you do.Being on the Xbox One, the game doesn't run at a perfect FPS and has numerous lighting glitches and long loading screens, but it just didn't break the unbreakable emersion for me. If the game didn't have these issues, I would've given it a perfect 10.
Life is Strange: True Colors, appears to be a game that is designed in all respects, for a subset minority of gamers, where goals of inclusivity have the undue effect of weakening the experience and demonstrating a lack of respect for the audience’s intelligence. Life is Strange: True Colors, was more enjoyable towards the latter half of the story and ultimately it is still a worthwhile play, however it is not a game that you will want to play twice.
Life is Strange: True Colors is a “must-play” for all those that played the first title and felt that something was missing in the second. It’s a game of landmark events, strong emotions and tough decisions. Be prepared to meet Haven Springs and unravel the secret that hides within the city and that conceals the death of so many other characters. Having the risk of becoming one more death, Alex does not give up on bringing justice and truth to all those that accompany her, including you.

If it's not possible toA game like Life is Strange: True Colors should be running at a solid locked 60 fps at max PC settings on Series X. If it's not possible to achieve this lock with Ray Tracing, then a non-RT option should made available at a 60 fps. Unfortuantely, the Series X version is locked to 30 fps, which is absolutely bizarre, and it can't even hold that in open areas. The developer claims a 30 fps lock was intentional for a "cinematic experience", but I call BS on this. The PC version runs at 60 fps or higher with less powerful hardware. One person was getting up to 100fps with a GTX 1080 Ti, which is inferior compared to what the Series X is running. If the "Cinematic experience" was so integral to the aesthetics of the gameplay, then why wasn't the PC locked to 30 fps as well?Frankly, this is just a terribly optimized game and there's no valid reason why this shouldn't run at 60 fps at high graphical fidelity when all but a handful of Series S|X games are hitting 1440p or 2160p at 60 fps since the console's launch.Nobody should buy Life is Strange: True Colors on Series X until the developer fixes this. When you pay full price for a game, you expect it to run well and this game doesn't, regardless of its narrative or gameplay qualities. It's inexcusable.
Life Is Strange: True Colors has kept me more emotionally invested in any Life Is Strange Story since I played the original. Consistent writing for both main and side characters, a compelling, well paced story as well as dialogue choices that have actual consequences over the course of the five chapters, True Colors may just be the best entry into the Life Is Strange series.
Life is Strange: True Colors opens phenomenally well and then somehow loses its way, never really knowing if it wanted to tell a cheesy conspiracy story or dive completely into slice-of-life territory. I wish it chose an identity. Most of all, I wish it took some chances. I don’t want to say the series is growing stale, but there’s certainly a careful balance needed between giving fans what they expect and reinventing some aspect of itself. This is a cool world to get lost in over a weekend, but it may float on by as a passing phase.
The game is way too slow at the beginning and rushed at the end. The superpower is quite irrelevant and useless. You learned a lot by accessing the past events through designated objects but have no use for that information. You can absorb people's emotions but you can do it twice throughout the game with no consequences. You rarely have a chance to use your power, and most of it is insignificant. You don't establish a real connection with anyone except the one you romanced, and it's so obvious. At the end of the game where you confront Jed, those who decided to help you later on sit awkwardly silence at the beginning. To the point that I feel Alex is totally alone in this scenario, despite her running around trying to help people. I helped Charlotte on the biggest role with Ethan, I helped Eleanor by telling Riley about her condition and her tasks in flower shop, I helped Mac's relationship and his mental breakdown, I helped Riley for telling the truth about Eleanor, I helped Ryan from suicidal thought, and I helped Ethan for his boring long game. What did I get in return? NOTHING, because most of them didn't even show up; they just... disappeared. These characters are extremely selfish, and what is the point of helping them except keeping the game longer. At the end, I decided to **** this town and left with Steph, and the game gave me an unsatisfied ending. NO ONE, those I helped, even go out and say good bye; even Gabe disappeared after my decision without words. NO ONE CARE ABOUT YOU. Improved graphics and good musics, but too many plot holes. A total waste of time.

I left somewhat mixed.PROS:- Great graphics w/ very stylish presentation- Amazing soundtrack & mood- Very authentic voice acting- Exceptional facial (subtle) animations- Core gameplay was good if you're into this kind of thing- Romance was spot on — not a lot of choice but what's given was goodCONS:- REALLY short — less than half of original LiS length & finished it in about 5-6 hours- Alex was well written but felt disconnected and very hard to relate- Much subtler story & about one's life so if you can relate, it's great but otherwise, you really won't care- Some choices are consequential while others felt like whateverOverall decent, but just wish it was longer. I rarely complain about game's length but the full price ($60 in this case) for a game that you can beat in 5~6 hours — that's like $10-12/hour, which is a bit too much.P.S. The "review bombing" thing is way blown out of proportion. This is not a major title & at the time of writing, there're only ~50 reviews and negative "review bombs" are less than 10 so it was probably a few people. There are twice more people complaining about "review bombing" than people who are supposedly doing it. And all these media coverage...uh, do you really want to call maybe 2-3 people complaining "review bombing"?

Life is Strange: True Colors delivers an engaging and emotionally cathartic tale along with a surprisingly fulfilling new power. Its earnestness may not be for everyone, but fans of the series will find much to enjoy with this Deck Nine outing.
Life is Strange: True Color's well written cast and rich setting help make it easily one of the strongest outings this franchise has had.
I’ve been pretty much bowled over by Life is Strange: True Colors - the story, characters, and themes have really managed to strike a chord. Others might find the tone and writing not to their taste and that's fine, but I don't think anyone can deny that the team behind it have progressed their art form and game-making skills in a positive direction with this latest addition to the franchise. Long may it continue.
It is rare when I find a game that tries to capture real people and nails it so well. Every aspect of Life is Strange: True Colors — from the dialogue to the characters to the paths they took — is real and vivid, and I fell in love with all of it almost immediately. If the ending doesn’t get people talking for the next several months, we’ve failed as a society because the entire final two chapters were impossible to look and walk away from. The game is an absolute gem and shouldn’t be overlooked.
When Alex experiences joy for the first time, a warm golden glow emanates from the characters, sparkling and twisting into the laughter-filled air. Life Is Strange: True Colors fills my heart with the same sensation. Then breaks it in the most bittersweet way I could imagine. Alex’s story is a colourful tapestry, stitched together with the gossamer thread of what it means to be human. It’s a glimmering, supernatural journey that reminds you life really is… weird.
Life is Strange: True Colors is the largest and most ambitious chapter in the Square-Enix series, but it does not reach the narrative depth of the previous chapters.
Life is Strange: True Colors lives up to the bar of the saga and deals with the subject of emotions in a responsible and realistic way. It's BSO is wonderful and despite having some bugs, the overall result is neat and we will enjoy it.
Life is Strange: True Colors presents a tale of empathy as you witness a town struggle to deal with a tragic event. I enjoyed my time in Haven, especially when seeing the world through the eyes of different characters and the ending presented an interesting twist. However, it's all over quickly and the mystery-solving portion is lackluster but it's an ultimately rewarding experience.
True Colors is a fantastic narrative experience, filled with rich characters and taking place in a beautiful, enchanting world. It is heartfelt and at times powerful, touching on the nature of grief, loneliness and belonging. True Colors will delight fans of narrative games, but is unlikely to win over the doubters. You probably know if you’ll like this one, and I’m here to tell those people that they won’t be disappointed.
Life is Strange: True Colors is just as much a story about Asian American heritage, mental illness, broken homes, and systemic failure as it is a drama centering around dealing with loss, regrets, and trauma. Alex, up until the events of the game, is forced to hide her emotions for fear of alienating everyone around her and appeal to potential foster homes. She despises her father—a first-generation Chinese immigrant—for leaving her and her brother after their mother died from an illness. Alex calls herself “broken,” and it’s only until she reunites with her brother Gabe that she finally begins the process of healing.
With its emotional gut-punching story, memorable and wonderfully crafted characters, and a beautifully designed setting that immerses you deeply into its world, Life is Strange: True Colors is a superb entry into the Life is Strange series. While the game's conclusion does come just slightly too quickly, and some technical issues spoil the show, you won't regret experiencing Alex Chen's story. Simply put, Life is Strange: True Colors is a must-play.
Life is Strange: True Colors is the best adventure in the LiS franchise, by far. A warm story about empathy, and the effect of it, that will leave a mark in your soul.
Of the Life is Strange games I've completed (2 is still woefully unfinished for me atm), True Colors is my favorite. It strikes the perfect balance of focus on Alex as a person, the town of Haven Springs as a community, and how the two interact and change each other. While I'm still not sold on the superpowers as a mechanic or narrative device, they're unobtrusive enough to be fine, and do provide more to actually do besides walking around, looking at things and talking to people. If you liked previous entries in the Life is Strange series, you'll probably enjoy this one. It's a tighter, cleaner take on the formula, but at its heart, it's still the balance of magic and mundane that’s become signature to these games.
Life is Strange: True Colors isn't perfect, but it's exactly what fans of the franchise needed. Deck Nine has hit the mark and has taken command of the saga with a powerful story and a protagonist to remember.
Life is Strange: True Colors is another good installment in the series. However, there are some flaws. The setting is far too small and you will find yourself visiting the same locations time after time. Next to that, there are some flaws in the story. Although the writing is good, the game loses focus once in a while and lets you LARP instead of looking for clues. Overall it's just a good popcorn game, but not more than that.
Life is Strange: True Colors may sadly dim towards the end, but it’s worth checking out alone just to experience Haven Springs, with its gorgeous scenery, terrific cast of characters both major and minor, and an intriguing mystery that requires quite a bit of fun gameplay.
