Outbuddies DX Opiniones y valoraciones
You have to admire the scale and scope of Outbuddies DX, a Metroidvania that is packed full of gameplay mechanics and ideas. It's arguably too slow, too long and a little bit unfriendly in terms of its clumsy interface, controls and map design but your patience is rewarded especially if you enjoy exploration, platforming and big boss battles.
With a vast interconnected cave system to explore, and all the genre trappings and pitfalls, Outbuddies has the elements most will be looking for in a new digital spelunking fix, just without the flair to find its way back to the surface.
Outbuddies DX draws from some very special places in its design. From its Metroid style to its Lovecraftian world, there is a lot it compares to. And while not perfect in its execution, it does a solid job at grabbing these ideas and adapting them in new ways.

This game was created by Solo Developer Julian Laufer. There has been quite the rise of Metroidvania style games, and only a few have shined. Outbuddies has the heart and soul of its inspirational predecessors. You play as Nikolay Bernstein, maritime archaeologist and adventurer as he stumbles into Bahlam, a sunken city belonging to the Old Gods while questing for the place where mankind began. You wake up here after your airship is struck by lightning, and you aren't alone. You're awoken by a buddy unit, that will be your ally for the rest of the game, you will be able to use it to scout an area, and later for many more useful things. Outbuddies is a nostalgic delve into a new world. The controls are crisp and responsive, allowing you the ability to make split-second decisions that will inevitably save your life many times along your adventure. The soundtrack is incredible adding so much to the already great environment the game presents. The map is large and even crosses over itself, making the navigation a strategic choice later in the game. Outbuddies scratches an itch that few games have been able to for a while. Fans of Metroidvania games need this in their life!
When it comes to Metroidvanias, Outbuddies DX offers a unique and retro-feeling adventure. However, it could still use quite a lot of fine-tuning with its controls, visuals, and guidance to make it truly stand out as a must-have experience.
