I’m lost for words on this version. The models are brilliant and move and look so photogenic and lifelike. Absolutely stunning!! And the revamped controls are awesome making for full immersion and FUN!! You can hear the pain and slapping sound, audio is superb. And the girls, so hot!! I used to turn off the intro but now I watch it with amazement. Yes moving, smiling, even wiggles and taunts. It’s not just a game but an experience. And what’s more, I’m winning thanks to the new simpler system. This is one hell of a game and experience that I can say is every cent worth the $109 I paid for it. All quality and top class. You can tell that the developers worked really, really hard on this game and created a masterpiece in my humble opinion. Congratulations to the devs. Brilliant game and experience. Absolutely stunning on the x box series x.

After the last few installments, WWE 2K22 succeeds in bringing the zest back into this long-running franchise. Each match is intense and exciting, and I couldn’t stop myself from exploring different play styles and re-enacting some of my favorite encounters. Even if the whole WWE circus only exists to present a cheap power fantasy, games like this one triumph in highlighting the best side of the affair.

Boasting a polished presentation, enjoyable gameplay that more closely resembles modern pro wrestling and two brilliantly executed modes in Showcase and MyRISE, WWE 2K22 is genuinely delightful and a defining chapter in its franchise’s legacy.

WWE 2K22 is many things, but one thing most of us can probably agree on is that it is not, as retired WWE wrestler Bret Hart would say: "The Best There Is, The Best There Was and The Best There Ever Will Be". While WWE 2K22 might have made considerable strides forward in the area of general stability, compared with its infamously terrible launch, it’s doubtful that the studio will bother continuing to support it for much longer. One doesn’t have to be The Rock to know that 2K is probably already cooking up a new annual instalment. Here's hoping that in-between now and then, the publisher learns from both the successes and failures of WWE 2K22 and use that as a guide to give players a true WWE experience worthy of the license.

A fine return to form, this is the closest you can get to competing without putting on a 8silly costume and scripting a fight with a terrifying athlete.

WWE 2K22 is the comeback that the series needed to put itself back on everyone’s radar once again. The game’s amazing presentation and fluid gameplay are exactly what the doctor ordered to make such a solid and enjoyable experience. 2K delivered on all of their promises making WWE 2K22 a instalment that “Hits Different”.

WWE 2K22 hits different. It hits way better than the last outing and only the game modes really hold it back from being considered a main event masterpiece. If you love wrestling, you should contemplate stepping into the squared circle with WWE 2K22.

With all the extra time between 2K20 and this entry, I expected several things. I expected the roster to be out of date, and it is. Many of the 180+ wrestlers featured here are no longer with the WWE (although that’s more WWE’s fault than 2k’s). I expected many of the wrestler characterizations and storylines to also be out of date, and they are (for example, Seth Rollins is still operating under his “Messiah” character). Most importantly I expected some big improvements, and while some of the items here definitely meet that qualification the game is still stuck in a rut with respect to AI and physics/clipping issues. There’s talk that WWE may look to partner with EA on future games, so this may be the last go around for the team at 2K, but if it’s not I hope that their focus for WWE 2k23 will be on fixing some of these issues so that the solid base they’ve built can actually live up to its potential. Hopefully I’m not revisiting that sentence again next year.

The woolly controls, messy inputs, and numerous glitches lead to an underwhelming video game experience, while the lacklustre Showcase and MyRise game modes don't manage to replicate the bombast of professional wrestling, WWE 2K22 isn’t a particularly good wrestling game either. It’s a decent laugh in multiplayer, but with the notably hefty price tag I would expect a lot more than that.

It is simply not fun for me.Also, the GM mode - what I was most excited for - is barely passable. It manages to be both more complicated and not nearly in depth enough. They've added features and problems to make the mode bogged in myotomy and less fun, and removed features from previous editions. For starters, you only can book THREE matches per show! Can you imagine a real life wrestling show with only three matches? Additionally, there are only 1v1 and tag team matches. No triple threat, fatal four way, elimination chamber, etc. In those two categories, you only have 4 options for different stipulations. Rivalries feel arbitrary, where you have no control over their story. For your show, you ONLY have 1 champion. (Not like you could book more than 1 title on a show with only 3 matches per day). So the US Title, Intercontinental, Women's, and Tag titles literally do not exist in GM Mode. Playing 2k22 GM Mode has only made me load Pro Wrestling Sim on my PC or SvR 08 on my 360, both of which offer FAR BETTER experiences than 2k22.Additionally, the roster is paper thin with several versions of the same wrestler to give the illusion of a deep roster. However, thanks mostly to the WWE's string of releasing most of their roster, the game's selection of active wrestlers and legends are the bare minimum. This could have been a non-factor, but the 'HAVE' to have DLC, so if we want a decent roster, we'll have to pay extra for it.

WWE 2K22 is the definition of a mixed bag. There are clearly areas where the team at Visual Concepts made positive progress with the franchise, particularly in wrestler AI and animations. Many of the marquee talents look fantastic and there is a lot to do within the game. Sadly, most of the modes are half-baked and the series is still suffering from bugs or problems it has carried for far too long. With WWE 2K22 seemingly refusing to make use of the power afforded to it by the new consoles or PCs, what do the fans who buy the game every year have to look forward to? Visual Concepts achieved its goal of surpassing WWE 2K20. The problem is that being better than awful isn’t gonna cut the mustard any longer.

This is a re-establishment year for the WWE 2K series. Let’s face it, WWE 2K20 was rough and while it took more than 2 years to develop, 2K has re-emerged with a strong and not only playable wrestling game, but a fun one. The engine is better and the basics are tighter, but we’re looking forward to more layers in the future.

WWE 2K22 certainly hits different, go check the score again, it certainly has not come out a perfect ten. The redeemable qualities, thankfully, are the wrestling mechanics themselves, which ironically might not be everyone's cup of tea, and MyRISE mode which offers a good amount of content to keep the average WWE gamer going. It has taken over 2 years for the game to finally release and while it is an improvement on WWE 2K20 it still serves up disappointment in other ways, such as an outdated roster, a pathetic attempt at recreating General Manager mode, and a disgusting ethical issue of microtransactions in MyFACTION mode, albeit optional. MyFACTION mode is enjoyable, and can be played without using real-world money to progress, but the fact of the matter is that this mechanic should not exist in a full priced game. If you came to play then there is certainly a price to pay.

WWE 2K22 is a step in the right direction, with a lot of content and a lot of fun to be had. A far from perfect title loaded with nostalgia, and too many game modes can be overwhelming. An easy recommend for wrestling fans, and newcomers.

While still partly a money-making machine for its MyFaction multiplayer, WWE 2K22 is back in style with a beautiful game that's clunky at times but shines with a huge amount of personality. This is the most fun I’ve had on any WWE game since possibly WWE 13 and the SVR series. Then there is also MyFaction and GM Mode which are currently lacking a bit, but the potential for the next games are there. The gameplay and the graphics stand out in my view. This is by far the best looking wrestling game of all time. Gameplay wise, it is super refreshing and is much different than anything seen in previous games. It is a combination of the simulation style seen in previous 2K games and the arcade style seen in games like Here Comes the Pain. When you have a tag team match, you play as both people in the match and can't have fun messing with the other opponents in the match. The year-long break was exactly what the series needed. They needed to hit a home run, and they hit a grand slam! The future of WWE games certainly looks bright!

WWE 2K22 is a lot of fun because the gameplay is faster, better and more fluent than in its predecessors. On the other hand it still has some technical flaws and some of the game modes – especially the extremely boring MyRise story mode – are rather disappointing.

WWE is back with a fun game that serves as the promising foundation for all the good things that, we hope, will come with the future entries.

The fighting alone is much improved and enjoyable to work with, and the graphics look quite nice, even though some flourishes are missing and the PC version isn't up to expectations. The modes are pretty hit-and-miss, and the legacy issues and hilariously outdated roster show that this isn't quite the comeback many people were hoping for. There's enough fun to be had here, despite the issues to warrant a look for those craving a "good enough" wrestling game, especially from those who were heavily burned by WWE 2K20.

WWE 2K22 is a tremendous leap forward compared to 2K20. The action is faster, more pick-up-and-play friendly, the roster of 160+ wrestlers has never looked better, and the addition of MyGM mode rounds out a well rounded offering of modes for just about every type of wrestling fan.

WWE 2K22 is 2K Sports’ first mainline WWE game since 2019. Following the abysmal reception to 2K20 that year, 2K took an extra year to make sure bugs were squashed and character models looked the part while preserving the fun factor. The team behind the latest release has addressed most of these issues this time around, and while 2K22 is significantly better than its predecessor, the bar was absurdly low. WWE 2K22 looks good, feels good, and most importantly, it manages to create a solid foundation for the franchise. After being absent for one year, Visual Concepts has managed to deliver one of the best entries in the wrestling franchise, although it also feels like a product that has much more to fulfill.
